Beauty trends in 2012 are all about trying new forms, new palettes, and new techniques. For hair in general, bold statements and hair appliques seem consistent across the board.

For designers like Alexander McQueen, Valentino, and Michael Cinco, braids are making a big comeback, but this time done fresh and exciting styles. New York based label Thakoon opted for shocks of pastel hair color worn in a messy updo. Jason Wu presented an artful and elaborate arrangement of pinks and feathers, while Yves Saint Laurent cased their buns in beautiful metal embellishments.
